2027 Sea-Doo range gets major power boost with 350hp Senna, RXT-X, RXP-X and GTX

Sea-Doo has reset the benchmark for supercharged horsepower in the Jet Ski segment with an epic 350hp available across four models in 2027 – including a new hero model named after Formula One legend Ayrton Senna. Here is everything you need to know.

Sea-Doo has established a new high watermark for supercharged Jet Skis, resetting the benchmark with the most powerful models to ever come off the showroom floor – headlined by an epic limited edition named after the late Formula One champion Ayrton Senna.

At its annual global conference in Orlando, Florida USA overnight, Sea-Doo unveiled significant upgrades to its performance model line – and stunned the Jet Ski community with a special Senna edition, of which just 1991 will be made (a tribute to the year Senna won his third F1 title).

For 2027 Sea-Doo will introduce four heavily updated high-performance watercraft with an epic 350hp – up from the previous 325hp output, which was already the most powerful in the segment.

The Sea-Doo models that will receive a 350hp boost are (prices in Australian dollars, excluding trailer and registration):

  • 2027 Sea-Doo GTX Limited 350 (Mineral Blue $37,399, White Pearl $37,799)
  • 2027 Sea-Doo RXT-X 350 (Gulfstream Blue or Solar Orange $37,299)
  • 2027 Sea-Doo RXP-X 350 (Solar Orange $36,299)
  • 2027 Sea-Doo RXP-X 350 Senna special edition (Neon Yellow $41,999)

The arrival of a new limited edition is the first time a Sea-Doo has cost in excess of $40,000 (excluding trailer and registration).

Compared to the ‘standard’ 2027 Sea-Doo RXP-X 350, the Senna edition gains a unique yellow and green colour scheme – a tribute to the Brazilian flag and Ayrton Senna’s favourite helmet design – and unique branding.

Plus it comes with a storage cover with Senna logos, a premium 80-watt audio system, and a rear seat extension – normally an extra-cost option – that transforms the RXP-X from a one- to a two-seater.

Markings that acknowledge Ayrton Senna’s three championship-winning years – 1988, 1990, 1991 – appear discreetly on the craft, etched into the floor mats.

And the Senna logo appears on the hood cover and is etched into the rubber matting on the rear deck.

On the handlebar pad is a plaque that says each model is 1 of 1991 examples built, however Sea-Doo elected not to number them individually from 1 through to 1991.

The Senna special edition is named after Formula One great Ayrton Senna, from Brazil, who won three F1 world titles before his tragic death in 1994.

The 2027 Sea-Doo RXP-X 350 Senna has the stamp of approval from the family of Ayrton Senna.

Sea-Doo is establishing a special connection with Brazil as the South American country is now the world’s second biggest market for personal watercraft globally – after the USA and ahead of Canada and Australia.

His nephew Bruno Senna – who briefly drove in F1 before switching to endurance sports-car racing – is the brand ambassador for the limited edition Sea-Doo RXP-X 350 Senna.

Bruno Senna is the second Formula One driver in four years to become an ambassador for Sea-Doo after Australian F1 ace Daniel Ricciardo endorsed the limited edition Sea-Doo RXP-X 300 Apex in 2023.

British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton also had a brief fling with Sea-Doo – 8 years ago – when he showed his skills on a Sea-Doo Spark Trixx in Monaco in 2018.

Sea-Doo representatives said Brazil will likely receive about 500 examples of the Senna edition and Australia is likely to receive fewer than 100 examples.

Sea-Doo said the 1991 examples of the Senna edition would be divided across approximately 1200 dealers globally, and the model was expected to be an instant sell out.

When Sea-Doo produced a limited edition of the RXP-X with Australian Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo as an ambassador in 2023, it also sold out almost instantly.

Sea-Doo’s latest supercharged power boost has come as a surprise to Jet Ski industry insiders, because Sea-Doo increased the output of its flagship performance models from 300hp to 325hp only three years ago.

Sea-Doo claimed the title of the world’s most powerful jet ski in 2024 when it went from 300hp to 325hp, overtaking the supercharged Kawasaki Ultra figure of 310hp.

Sea-Doo says the supercharged 1630cc three-cylinder Rotax engine was elevated from 325hp to 350hp after a major overhaul.

A rev limit increase from 8250rpm to 8500rpm – plus a larger boost wheel (up from 72.5mm to 75.5mm) – enables the engine to gather more air and create more boost.

Sea-Doo also changed the ride plate to lift the bow, and equipped all 350hp models with a new intake grate and new jet pump housing for faster and more responsive acceleration.

One omission: the increase in horsepower has seen the Sea-Doo GTX Limited lose the ‘Intelligent Debris-Free’ (IDF) reverse thrust debris removal system. The current 325hp version of the Sea-Doo GTX Limited has IDF but the 2027 Sea-Doo GTX Limited 350 does not.

Sea-Doo claims the changes have trimmed the 0 to 60mph acceleration time from 3.4 seconds to 3.1 seconds.

“Every time we launch more performance, we’ve seen a spike in demand, and this is exactly what’s going to happen with the 350hp versions,” Christian Comtois, the global product strategy manager of Sea-Doo, told media at the preview overnight. “Now 350hp is just a finger tip away.”
