The budget-priced Sea-Doo Fish Pro Scout – the cheapest model in the Sea-Doo Fish Pro line-up – has been axed globally following weaker than expected sales and a buyer preference for the dearer Sea-Doo Fish Pro Sport and Sea-Doo Fish Pro Trophy.
The Sea-Doo Fish Pro Scout disappeared from Australian showrooms in late 2025 once remaining stock sold out – but now it has also been phased out globally.
Introduced in late 2021 as a 2022 model year, the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Scout was based on the mid-size Sea-Doo GTI series.
Although the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Scout came decked out with fishing gear including a cooler box, rod holders, and a Garmin navigation unit, it only had a 130hp engine (versus 170hp for the larger Fish Pro Sport and Fish Pro Trophy models) and lacked a rear deck extension and overall stability when stopped.
Sea-Doo representatives confirmed the demise of the Fish Pro Scout at the annual global dealer conference in Orlando, Florida earlier this month.
Among the 2027 model previews, the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Scout was conspicuous by its absence.
Alexane Menard, a product manager at Sea-Doo global headquarters, told Watercraft Zone:
“We have decided to pause the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Scout because the customer demand in that segment is mainly for the Fish Pro Sport and Fish Pro Trophy.
“The ST3 platform – on which the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Sport and Sea-Doo Fish Pro Trophy are based – has a larger top deck and a rear deck extension, and it is more stable for this kind of use.
“Instead of keeping the Fish Pro Scout in the lineup, we decided to remove it and focus our energies on the Fish Pro Sport and the Fish Pro Trophy.
“We can still offer fishing accessories on the Sea-Doo GTI series if someone prefers the mid-size platform, however by the time you do this, it costs similar money to the Fish Pro Sport, so many customers opt for the Fish Pro Sport because it is already sold as a package.
“However, we are still looking after the Fish Pro Scout customer even though we have discontinued this variant of the Fish Pro series.
“For example, some customers who buy a Sea-Doo GTI SE – but then find later their preferences evolve and they would like to go fishing – then instead of buying a new model they can upgrade the one they have with the accessories that were designed for the Fish Pro Scout.”
When asked which of the two remaining models – the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Sport and the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Trophy – was more popular, the product specialist said:
“Globally, we are seeing more momentum on the Fish Pro Trophy, especially since the upgrades introduced in 2026.
“The Fish Pro Trophy now sells in greater numbers than the Fish Pro Sport. Of course this can vary from market to market, but globally the Trophy outsells the Sport.”
When asked if there was any plan to change the colour schemes of the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Sport (pictured above) and Sea-Doo Fish Pro Trophy (pictured below), the product specialist said:
“We want to keep a consistent colour scheme because we want to build brand awareness and product awareness of the Fish Pro and Explorer Pro series.
“Plus our purpose built package models are like tools, we want people to become familiar with them.
“However, we are aware that some customers who have the Trophy since launch are waiting for a new colour to upgrade their machine.
“In the meantime we have done many upgrades to the Fish Pro Trophy.
“So we acknowledge and are aware some customers would like new colours, but for the moment we focus on the awareness of the product and keeping the image consistent.”
When asked if there was a plan to introduce a supercharged, 230hp version of the Sea-Doo Fish Pro Trophy, the product specialist said:
“As for the possibility of a Sea-Doo Fish Pro Trophy 230, we see very different feedback compared to the Sea-Doo Explorer Pro 230 .
“Some people are asking for the option of more power (for the Fish Pro Trophy) and other people say the 170hp motor has enough power, and they prefer the longer riding range thanks to the better fuel efficiency.
“We are really aware of this interest from customers and we are listening to what people are asking us. But for now, this decision is really divided.”
