All examples of the Sea-Doo Switch imported into Australia – approximately 100 vessels – will need to have recall work completed because they could capsize when loaded unevenly.
The safety recall in Australia is the second in six months for the Sea-Doo Switch and follows similar action in North America.

The recall notice lodged by Sea-Doo with the Australian consumer protection authority says:
Improper distribution of passengers and cargo weight could overload the front of the watercraft and cause instability, nosediving and possibly lead to capsizing.
The condition worsens if water evacuation from the hull is not optimal. This could cause serious injuries or even death.

The latest recall applies to Sea-Doo Switch models that were orginally recalled six months ago in April 2025 for the same flaw.
That’s because the original rectification work did not properly address the problem.
The Sea-Doo recall notice continues:
Your (Sea-Doo Switch) watercraft falls into one of the following two categories:
• It was not previously repaired
• It was already repaired by the dealer
In ALL situations, this recall must be performed regardless of previous safety recalls completion.

Why do some (Sea-Doo Switch) watercraft need to be repaired again? According to the recall notice:
Unfortunately, one component of the previous remedy may not perform to our expectations for durability.
The sealant applied on the hull sections needs to be replaced by three gaskets.
Sea-Doo Australia says the recall work will be completed in about 2.5 hours at no charge to the customer (parts or labour).

The recall notice added:
All (Sea-Doo Switch) watercraft need three gaskets in specific sections of the hull.
If your watercraft presently has sealant in those sections, it will be removed prior to the installation of the gaskets.
As a vessel like no other, the Sea-Doo Switch has been swimming against the tide in Australia.
Initially priced from $115,000 when it went on sale locally in mid 2023, the RRP was quickly slashed to below $100,000 less than one year later.
Last month, the RRP hit a new low of $59,999 drive-away with trailer, including $18,000 worth of accessories thrown in for free.
Once the remaining stock in Australia is sold out, it is unclear if the Sea-Doo Switch will return to local showrooms with the upgrades introduced on later models.

Sea-Doo Switch timeline:
- Launched in the US in August 2021

In North America the Sea-Doo Switch is available in three lengths (13ft, 18ft, and 21ft) and with three engine power outputs (130hp, 170hp, and 230hp).
