The 2024 Yamaha WaveRunner and 2024 Sea-Doo personal watercraft line-ups are due to unveiled globally in the next fortnight – ahead of expected Australian showroom arrivals late this year or early next year.
While there have been delays in local arrivals of new Jet Skis over the past two years, industry sources say shipping bottlenecks have eased and production has returned to normal following the severe interruptions throughout the pandemic.
That means next year’s new models should be in Australian showrooms in time for summer.
Yamaha WaveRunner and Sea-Doo watercraft head offices have issued invitations to dealers – to tune-in via digital links or attend live events in North America in the middle of this month – to see their respective 2024 Model Year line-ups unveiled before production ramps up.
The 2024 Yamaha WaveRunner series is due to debut first, at 9:01am US eastern time (UTC-5) on Monday 14 August 2023.
By our calculations, that translates to 12:01am on Tuesday 15 August 2023 in Australia (eastern time) in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Meantime, the 2024 Sea-Doo line-up is scheduled to be unveiled at 6:30pm US eastern time (UTC-4) on Sunday 20 August 2023.
By our calculations, that translates to 8:30am on Monday 21 August 2023 in Australia (eastern time) in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
Little is known about what is coming from either brand, but Watercraft Zone understands both Yamaha and Sea-Doo have more than just new colour schemes in the works.
If social media posts out of the US are a guide, there could be a power bump coming on certain models for Yamaha and Sea-Doo.
Plus, we are expecting the new-generation Sea-Doo Spark to finally break cover.
The second-generation Sea-Doo Spark was due to be unveiled this time last year, after the current model clocked up its ninth year in production.
Sea-Doo historically introduces all-new models every nine years.
However, ongoing production interruptions and delays throughout the global pandemic appear to have delayed the debut of the new Sea-Doo Spark by 12 months.
Stay tuned to Watercraft Zone where we will bring you the latest details and pricing on the 2024 Yamaha WaveRunner and 2024 Sea-Doo line-ups as soon as the information becomes available.
Meantime, Kawasaki Jet Ski is yet to disclose when its 2024 line-up will be unveiled.
However, if history is a guide, Kawasaki Jet Ski’s Model Year updates are usually revealed in October.
Given the arrival of two significant new Kawasaki Jet Ski model updates over the past three years – new generation Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310 and new generation Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 160 – the changes for 2024 may amount to new colour schemes, if at all.
