2025 Yamaha JetBlaster finally arrives in Australia, a year after it was unveiled

Yamaha’s new rival to the Sea-Doo Spark and Sea-Doo Spark Trixx has finally landed in Australian showrooms. Here is everything you need to know.

The all-new 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster has finally arrived in Australian showrooms – almost one year after it was unveiled in the US and six months later than planned.

After missing Australia’s peak summer season due to production delays, Yamaha’s new budget-priced model has arrived Down Under in the middle of winter – the slowest months of the year for Jet Ski sales.

Frustratingly for buyers who have been waiting for the new-generation Yamaha JetBlaster – a direct rival to the smash-hit Sea-Doo Spark and Sea-Doo Spark Trixx – the current colour scheme may be short-lived.

Yamaha WaveRunner is due to unveil its 2026 colour schemes in the US in less than two months – as part of its global watercraft range preview in August, which it does each year.

Yamaha dealers on the east coast of Australia who this month received their first shipments of the 2025 Yamaha JetBlaser – a ground-up redesign to replace the Yamaha EX series – have reported strong interest even though it is the off-season.

As previously reported, the new-generation Yamaha JetBlaster undercuts the price of the most affordable Sea-Doo Spark by almost $1000 in Australia.

The 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster two-seater base model (pictured below) starts from $9999, ski only in Australia.

For now, the cheapest version of the 2025 Sea-Doo Spark is listed at $11,899, ski only in Australia.

However, it is worth noting both base models lack basics such as a reverse trigger.

The most expensive Yamaha JetBlaster Pro is listed at $15,399 while the most expensive Sea-Doo Spark Trixx is listed at $14,699.

Although these prices are roughly twice the RRP of the original Sea-Doo Spark a decade ago (which started from $6999 in Australia and $4999 in the US), they remain the cheapest tickets into the sit-down Yamaha WaveRunner and Sea-Doo line-ups.

The current recommended retail prices (excluding trailer and registration) are as follows:

2025 Yamaha JetBlaster versus Sea-Doo Spark pricing in Australia

 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster 90hp (2 seats)  $9999  New-gen Sea-Doo Spark 60hp (2 seats)  $10,834
 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster Deluxe 90hp (3 seats)  $12,999  New-gen Sea-Doo Spark Trixx 90hp (1 seat)  $12,634

While the JetBlaster name was most recently used by Yamaha for the performance version of its EX entry model – the badge now applies to the completely redesigned successor to the EX series.

In Australia there are four models to go head-to-head with the Sea-Doo Spark and Sea-Doo Spark Trixx.

As previously reported, one big step forward for the 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster Pro: it can now ride on its tail as vertically (and for as long) as the Sea-Doo Spark Trixx, after Yamaha made changes to the jet pump trim system, to allow it to pivot further.

Main differences between 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster and Sea-Doo Spark:

  • Yamaha JetBlaster has borrowed some of Sea-Doo Spark’s design cues and lightweight materials, such as Polytec plastic for the top deck.
  • Yamaha JetBlaster has a fibreglass hull, for better durability and sharper handling (versus a Polytec hull on the Sea-Doo).
  • Three-seat versions of the Yamaha JetBlaster have longer sponsons (for better stability and sharper turning) than two-seat versions of the Yamaha JetBlaster.
  • Yamaha JetBlaster Pro (the model that can ride on its tail for extended periods, similar to the Sea-Doo Spark Trixx) comes with the same digital display screen as the Yamaha GP1800 SVHO performance ski.
  • Yamaha JetBlaster has a bigger engine (1050cc versus 900cc for the Sea-Doo Spark) and outputs of 90hp (JetBlaster and JetBlaster Deluxe) and 110hp (JetBlaster Pro two- and three-seaters) versus 60hp and 90hp for the Sea-Doo Spark.
  • Sea-Doo Spark is about 50kg lighter than the equivalent 2025 Yamaha JetBlaster model.
  • All Yamaha JetBlasters come with a 50-litre fuel tank, versus a 30-litre fuel tank on all Sea-Doo Spark variants.
