The 2021 Kawasaki Jet Ski range has begun arriving in Australian showrooms just in time for summer and, as with Sea-Doo and Yamaha, stock is selling fast as more people choose to holiday at home in the wake of coronavirus international travel restrictions.
The newest and most affordable models in the Kawasaki Jet Ski three-seater range carry over with the same prices as the 2020 editions.
The 2021 Kawasaki STX160X, which starts the sit-down Jet Ski range from $14,999 (not including trailer and registration, which typically adds between $1500 and $2000) changes colour scheme from green to turquoise.
The flagship version of the STX series, the 2021 Kawasaki STX160LX, which comes with tiered seating and built-in speakers, costs from $16,799 (not including trailer and registration) and retains the 2020 lime green and black colour scheme.
Both Kawasaki STX160 Jet Skis are still powered by the company’s proven 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with a claimed output of 160 horsepower.
The Kawasaki STX160 was introduced as a new model in 2019 as a 2020 model year. While the hull dates back to 2003, the top deck was all-new for 2020.
The larger Kawasaki Ultra series receives modest prices and colour changes on certain models.
The non-supercharged Kawasaki Ultra LX (powered by the same 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine in the STX models) has had the biggest price increase across the 2021 line-up.
The 2021 Kawasaki Ultra LX now starts from $16,299 (not including trailer and registration), which is a $500 increase on the 2020 price of $15,799.
The two model years are mechanically identical and share the same deck and hull, however the 2021 colour scheme has switched to turquoise and black (previously yellow and black).
The supercharged Kawasaki Ultra 310 has had a modest price rise on two of the three models.
The Kawasaki Ultra 310X has switched from an orange and black to a yellow and black colour scheme, and the price has increased by $200 from $20,999 (not including trailer and registration) to $21,199.
The closed-course racing-focussed 2021 Kawasaki Ultra 310R retains its lime green and black colour scheme, and is identical to the 2020 model, however the price has risen by $100, from $22,299 (not including trailer and registration) to $22,399.
The flagship of the Kawasaki Jet Ski fleet – the 2021 Kawasaki Ultra 310 LX – which comes with a built-in Bluetooth speaker system, tiered seating and adjustable handlebars, has maintained the same price as the 2020 model: $24,399 not including trailer and registration.
As with the rest of the 2021 Kawasaki Jet Ski line-up, this model is mechanically identical to the 2020 model (and has the same deck and hull), however the colour scheme has changed from grey and black to silver and black.
The 2021 Kawasaki SX-R stand-up Jet Ski remains unchanged from the 2020 model with its green and black livery, and the price has remained steady at $14,599 (not including registration).
