The limited-edition 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex RS300 was all but sold-out in Australia within hours of being unveiled in the US last year.
At the time, most Sea-Doo dealers in Australia claimed to have customer names on their allocations within days of the carbon-fibre accented watercraft being unveiled.
Only 100 examples were confirmed for our region – including 85 for Australia and 15 for New Zealand – out of a limited production run globally.
However, following an initial rush, a handful of brand-new examples of the 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex RS300 still remain in showroom stock in Australia after a number of deals fell over at the eleventh hour.
Watercraft Zone has canvassed the leading Sea-Doo dealers in Australia and located the few remaining brand-new examples of the 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex RS300.
While Sydney metro’s biggest Sea-Doo dealers (Beaches Sea-Doo and Cronulla Sea-Doo) have sold out of their allocations – even after sourcing extra stock – there are still a few examples left in the eastern states of Australia.
The world’s biggest standalone Sea-Doo dealer for the past 11 years in a row – JSW on the Gold Coast – is understood to have two examples of the 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex RS300 still in freight boxes being held back for VIP customers, and another two about to be delivered.
Representatives for JSW told Watercraft Zone they managed to secured some extra stock after other Sea-Doo showrooms in Australia had deals fall over unexpectedly.
Meanwhile, Melbourne Sea-Doo – located in a new showroom in Essendon Fields – told Watercraft Zone it has one brand-new 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex RS300 still in its freight box.
And so too does Lake and Valley Sea-Doo in Morisset on the Central Coast north of Sydney, which has one example yet to be unboxed.
Watercraft Zone has been told by BRP Australia – the local distributor of Sea-Doo – there is no stock left at its warehouse and all examples have been delivered to dealers.
The BRP Australia representative also noted once these examples are sold there will be no more.
There is speculation the adjustable steering damper set-up could become available as an option next year but for now that is yet to be confirmed.
The 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex RS300 is based on the regular RXP-X model but with carbon-fibre accents, a steering damper and unique 3D badging – but no extra horsepower.
While some Jet Ski enthusiasts baulked at the price – $34,254 not including trailer and registration, versus $29,354 for the standard model in yellow and $29,654 for the standard model in black – the 2023 Sea-Doo RXP-X Apex RS300 appears to be developing collector status.
The craft was unveiled last year by Australian Formula One ace Daniel Ricciardo, who then backed up his surprise appearance six months later in another promotional video with Sea-Doo ambassador and racer Anthony Radetic.
