Kawasaki Jet Ski first to jump on 2023 price rises, others to follow

Prices across the 2023 Kawasaki Jet Ski range have gone up in Australia – even though there are no changes compared to today’s 2022 models. Here’s the rundown.

Kawasaki Jet Ski has become the first of the three major personal watercraft brands in Australia to announce big price rises for next year’s model line-ups.

While Sea-Doo and Yamaha WaverRunner are also expected to formally announce price hikes within weeks – as the covers come off their 2023 model-year ranges – Kawasaki Jet Ski has beaten them to the punch.

Kawasaki Australia has advised dealers the biggest price increases will apply to the new Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310 series (pictured below), which received a new top deck and a major technology overhaul for 2022.

All three Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310 editions will go up by $1100 – on top of the $4500 to $5100 price increases announced earlier this year ahead of the scheduled arrival of the new models.

This means, in the space of seven months, Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 310 editions in Australia have gone up in price by between $5600 and $6200.

The latest price list for Kawasaki Ultra 310 editions issued in August 2022 shows the following:

  • 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310X $27,199, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $1100)
  • 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S $28,599, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $1100)
  • 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX $29,999, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $1100)

This compares to the price list for Kawasaki Ultra 310 editions issued in February 2022, which are now out of date:

  • 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310X $26,099, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $4900)
  • 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S $27,499, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $5100)
  • 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX $28,899, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $4500)

The above prices do not include the $1399 “on-water” fee listed by Kawasaki Australia (up from $1299 the year before), which is an additional charge claimed to cover the pre-delivery preparation and registration of the watercraft.

At the 2022 Sydney Boat Show, Kawasaki Australia executives told Watercraft Zone only customers who placed an order and left a deposit before the price rises were announced would be “price protected”.

Anyone who orders from today will be quoted the new prices.

Representatives for all three major brands – Sea-Doo, Yamaha WaveRunner and Kawasaki Jet Ski – have in recent weeks foreshadowed major price rises for 2023 due to significant increases in the cost of production and shipping.

As reported by Watercraft Zone last week, the non-supercharged Kawasaki Ultra LX (pictured above) has temporarily been dropped from the line-up for a year or so, until it is replaced by an updated model. Only dealer stock remains.

Meantime, here are the latest prices listed for the rest of the Kawasaki Jet Ski range in Australia (as of August 2022, compared to February 2022):

  • 2022 Kawasaki STX 160X $15,299, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $100)
  • 2022 Kawasaki STX 160LX $17,299, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $100)
  • 2022 Kawasaki SX-R stand-up $14,959, not including trailer and registration (no change)

The above prices do not include the $1399 “on-water” fee listed by Kawasaki Australia (up from $1299 the year before), which is an additional charge claimed to cover the pre-delivery preparation and registration of the watercraft.
