The price list for the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 Jet Ski range has finally been distributed to dealers across Australia, ahead of the first arrivals in the coming weeks in extremely limited numbers.
Kawasaki dealers in Australia are expected to initially receive only a handful of 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 models before the middle of this year – and all are reportedly sold.
Customers who place an order today are not likely to take delivery until the second half of 2022, in time for next summer.
A Kawasaki dealer bulletin – obtained by Watercraft Zone – reveals significant price increases of at least $4500 plus a $1399 dealer handling fee, which pushes the on-water cost in Australia past $30,000 for the top-of-the-range model.
Kawasaki Australia has advised dealers of the following recommended retail prices for the three new models for 2022 – the Kawasaki Ultra 310X, Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S, and flagship Kawasaki 310LX.
- 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310X $26,099, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $4900)
- 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S $27,499, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $5100)
- 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX $28,899, not including trailer and registration (an increase of $4500)
The above prices do not include the $1399 “on-water” fee listed by Kawasaki Australia (up from $1299 the year before), which is an additional charge claimed to cover the pre-delivery preparation and registration of the watercraft.
Industry practice has previously seen the pre-delivery cost absorbed into the RRP, but with vessel registration added separately.
It appears Kawasaki Australia – which added the “on-water” fee in 2017 – is endeavouring to add the Jet Ski equivalent of the dubious “dealer-delivery” fee charged in the car industry.
When there is an oversupply, dealers rip-up this extra charge to clear stock.
However, given the current chronic stock shortage of Jet Skis and personal watercraft globally across all three brands – Sea-Doo, Yamaha, and Kawasaki – it is unclear how many Kawasaki dealers will negotiate on this new added charge.
Contrary to perception, Kawasaki’s “on-water” fee does not include the cost of delivering the watercraft to the dealership. That is already covered in the invoice cost of the Jet Ski delivered to the showroom door.
Given the extremely limited supply of the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 range, Kawasaki dealers in Australia have told Watercraft Zone every model will go out at full price.
That means the above prices – with the “on-water” charge – will likely equate to the following:
- 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310X $27,498 not including trailer and trailer registration
- 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S $28,898 not including trailer and trailer registration
- 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX $30,298 not including trailer and trailer registration
Kawasaki dealers canvassed by Watercraft Zone generally quoted between $1500 and $2000 for a new trailer (with trailer registration), which would be in addition to the above prices.
This price range of $1500 to $2000 is the same estimate for a trailer and registration quoted by Sea-Doo and Yamaha dealers.

The new prices position the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 range alongside the cost of the the top-of-the-range 2022 Sea-Doo supercharged models.
They also make the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 range dearer than the 2022 Yamaha WaveRunner FX SVHO supercharged models (see table above, based on Australian price lists from all three brands).
While the Kawasaki’s sharp price rise may come as a shock to longtime fans, the increases to the RRP coincide with sweeping changes to the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 series.
The 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 series represents the biggest upgrade to the Kawasaki supercharged Jet Ski range in 14 years – and includes a number of industry-first features.
While it retains the heavy-duty SMC fibreglass hull introduced in 2007 and the 310-horsepower 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine introduced in the USA in 2014 and in Australia in 2015, everything above the bond-line is new for 2022.
All variants of the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 Jet Ski range sold in Australia come standard with launch control, a power mode function, a reverse trigger (adjacent to the accelerator on the right handlebar) and a 7-inch TFT (thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal, display).
The 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S is a new model grade that effectively replaces the Kawasaki Ultra 310R, but has a focus on recreational riding rather than racing.
In addition to the standard equipment on the entry-level 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310X, the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX-S gains a rear deck extension (lengthened by 200mm) with multi-mount rails to attach accessories (similar to Sea-Doo’s LINQ set-up), a rear camera, and forward-facing daytime running lights.
The 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310LX flagship model gains tiered seating and a four-speaker audio system.

A thumb-activated reverse lever on the right handlebar is located within reach of the accelerator trigger (to enable one-handed operation).
As previously reported by Watercraft Zone, waterway authorities across Australia have advised the rear camera does not override the legal requirement for a rear-facing observer on the craft when towing a tube or a wake-boarder (or similar).
The daytime running lights on the top two model grades of the 2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310 Jet Ski line-up are legal during daylight hours.
Personal watercraft cannot be operated at night in most jurisdictions in Australia (except Queensland and Victoria).
However, when personal watercraft are operated at night in Queensland and Victoria, they must still display the correct navigational lights.
